Junior Youth Dates and Events
September 2nd starts the new year for Junior Church School. We have our classes during the 10:00 am worship hour. This year for our curriculum we will again be using Live Big. It is focused on Living Your Belief in God. It has Bible-based lessons, activities and a video that brings the stories to life. We invite all children to come and bring a friend. Also once a month the children will have time at the computer learning about different people of the Bible.

We, at Zion Goshert's United Church of Christ, believe that the church should be a safe environment for all people. We believe that this is what our Lord, Jesus Christ would want. Because of their vulnerabilities as maturing individuals, we believe that special care and attention should be made in relation to the children and youth who participate in acitivities sponsored by our church. We believe that children and youth should not be placed in situations where they are (alone) with an adult. Likewise, because of the increased care and attention needed in relation to children and youth, we assume the burden of being the sole responsible person. It is therefore our policy as a church that there must be more than one adult present or in the nearby proximity at every activity that involves children and youth. If the group is of mixed sex, the idea is that there be at least one adult of each sex present or in the nearby area. We recognize that not everything can be anticipated and that emergencies force emergency responses. In such situations, we expect all participants to act in Christ like manners to the best of their ability.
